What Is a Dermal Fillers & Injectables Treatment Like?

At Chicago Oculofacial Consultants, injectables and fillers are administered by our experienced eyelid surgeons. Each patient is evaluated to determine which injectable or filler will provide optimal results with little to no downtime. During treatment, the injectable or filler is administered through a small needle into various areas of the face. But first, we numb the area, so the injection involves no notable discomfort. Once injected, results can generally last anywhere from 3 months to 1 year, with touch-up treatments needed as time goes on.

After the Treatment: Recovery

Injectables and fillers require minimal downtime, allowing you to return to your everyday activities almost immediately. After treatment, we recommend avoiding strenuous activity for at least 24 hours to ensure proper healing and to avoid irritating the injection sites. In addition, it is important to keep the injectable area clean and avoid direct exposure to sun or heat for 48 hours after treatment. However, patients rarely need any real downtime and often can return to work or most of their daily routines on the same day as their treatment.

After the Treatment: Results

For most injectables, you can see almost immediate results that last for months or beyond. Results vary based on the injectable or filler used, with most results lasting anywhere from 3 months to 1 full year. As injectables and fillers wear off, patients may require touch-up treatments every few months to maintain their desired appearance. However, many patients enjoy this aspect, as it allows them to enjoy cosmetic benefits without the permanent commitment that a surgery would require. And they can adjust their treatment to try out different aesthetic approaches to really bring out the best of their natural appearance.

Dermal Fillers FAQs

Injectables and fillers are becoming increasingly popular among patients who want a beautiful, natural look without resorting to invasive procedures. Fortunately, injectables are open to a wide range of patients. To determine if you may benefit from injectable or filler treatments in Chicago, you can schedule an appointment for a consultation with our experienced eyelid surgeon, Dr. Williams. During your consultation, she will discuss your goals and situation to then recommend the ideal treatment plan to help you achieve your goals.

The first step is determining your cosmetic concerns. Some fillers are better for restoring lost volume, while others are optimized for collagen stimulation. From there, we help you select the brand and formula best suited to your goals. Dr. Williams uses her expertise to guide the treatment plan, ensuring you are matched with your ideal pairing.

As a nonsurgical treatment, injectables are generally safe. You can further enhance safety by working with a skilled provider. Your injector will need to deeply understand the face’s structures. This knowledge not only increases safety but also improves results.

Dermal fillers can vary dramatically in cost. This is because each patient will need a different type and amount of filler. Having a few injections may take minutes and cost less than treatment of multiple facial areas at once. During the consultation, we provide a personalized quote based on your individual treatment plan details.
